2006
is a very very busy year for the site: we have
launched a Forum, so that we can all share Kimi deisgns and goodies
online and get to know each other a bit better (You
can click here for the Forum...)
- it's a big piece of work and was helped considerably by the input
of Harry who now not only helps run and moderate the
Forum, but also now officially co-runs the entire KIMI::STUFF site
with me: thanks Harry :o)
The Forum isn't the only big piece of work recently: we've also had
a major
"under the hood" code chasngeover to help manage the amount of
traffic and bandwidth we carry, and as well as that we've added a load
more goodies and pages, and got round to introducing a proper *VIP Area*
for Mailing List members where they can find and download all the exclusive
goodies, new and old. There's also new material on McLaren and on the MP4-21,
a "Shopping" page
to help guide you to some of the best sites on the web for getting
your Kimi and F1 goodies from, and a particular nerdish hobby of
mine - Minichamps
model cars.
We threw ourselves into the new 05 season with
new Kimi and "Classic F1" desktops, and
a whole load of KIMI::STUFF goodies including a new version of iKnow
F1 for iPods, and the 2006 version of the printable "desktop" Kimi
calendar and the 2006 version of the iCal.
We've also introduced "Minichamps" pages on KIMI::STUFF
and launched antdavidson.com the
Anthony Davidson Fansite.
The 2005 season was pretty hectic for us too, although we did manage
to introduce the excellent "Bernie
Ecclestone Cunning Plan Generator",
and a new set of Kimi desktops. Those on the Mailing List got extra
desktops and an exclusive set of PC & Mac icons of Kimi's helmet.
Also the 'non-tobacco McLaren' from the Pet Projects section has
been turned into a gaming reality by Kirk, who has turned it into
a 3D
Skin to be used
in EA Games "F1 Challenge" for PCs.
The site is performing
really well, and beyond that, selections of KimiStuff desktops being
distributed by GoKimi.com
- a terrific fan site of news, comment and forums which I've been lending
a hand to on a redesign / rebrand. Also, you lot are downloading around
700 to 800 desktops per week, occasionally hitting way over 1,000 per
week.... You're also downloading hundreds of the new icon sets too. Don't forget
to send feedback, comments and requests and I'll do my best to make sure
that you get what you want.
Check back for updates (and do join us on the Forum...), and above
all have fun.
Cheers, gb
